The popularity of heat treated and kiln dried firewood is increasing every year. Nyle offers systems to both heat treat and kiln dry firewood.
Because of the spread of bugs like the Asian Longhorn Beetle, Emerald Ash Borer and others, many states are now requiring that any firewood coming into that state be heat treated. It doesn’t necessarily need to be kiln dried but it must be heat treated. Some states require the core of the wood to reach 165⁰F (74⁰C) for 90 minutes while other states are using the common 134⁰F (57⁰C) for 30 minutes and yet other states have made no rules. Whatever market you choose to serve, Nyle has the right system to certify that the firewood was heat treated properly. The system can use hot water heat, steam heat, direct fired gas and indirect fired gas. The control is easy to use and provides an accurate written report that conforms to current rules and can be modified easily in the future as rules change.
Kiln dried firewood is very important for the packaged wood market. Grocery stores, convenience stores, big box stores do not want plastic wrapped firewood brought into their properties unless they can be assure it is dry and bug free. Nyle offers complete systems for installation in a chamber provided by the customer or a turn-key solution including complete system and chamber, that will assure that the firewood is dry and safe.
Nyle will not push to sell a “standard” unit. Our engineers stand ready to offer sound advice and recommend the perfect solution for your firewood drying and processing needs.
